Weekend Quote from a Book - Good and Bad |
What looks like bad news isn't always bad news. The guy who looks like the bad buy isn't always a bad guy. Sometimes he's a good guy in disguise. It takes time to sort this out, to understand the difference between a true disaster and none-too-gentle guidance toward the realization of our highest good. I always seem to notice when disaster strikes "out of the blue" - unfair! unfair! - that it really wasn't a complete surprise and there were plenty of warning buoys in the water. I just ignored the "red sky at morning - sailors take warning," the mutinuous mutterings amongst the crew, and the mold in the hold. Like Homer in The Simpsons, I paddled my canoe past my orange-vested friends' flashlights directing me towards the calm waters, sunny skiles, and rainbows, instead choosing to shoot the rapids where thunderclouds loomed and lightning flashed, "Warning! Danger!"
