I have a Dell Latitude with Windows 7 laptop. Recently, my built-in mousepad stopped working and I needed to use an external mouse to do anything. The mousepad had been working and it's a new laptop, so I wasn't sure why it had stopped working all of a sudden. After a quick internet search, I realized that I had accidentally disabled the predefined mouse pad functionality. To restart the functionality, all I had to do was to press Function (Fn) and F5 keys simultaneously on my laptop. That did the trick and my laptop mousepad is working without any issues!
